PROCESSING TIMES

The Department of Home Affairs imposes a cap in the number of parent visas granted each year. This limitation combined with the high demand for parent visas results in very long processing times.. However, those who opt for Contributory Parent Visas benefit from reduced processing time if compared to Non-Contributory Parent Visas. Processing times for a subclass 884 is often of 3 to 4 years, whilst processing times for a subclass 864 can be of up to 14 years. Please note that these are only estimates and processing times may vary depending on the demand and the number of places available each year.
More information may be found at the Department's website.
